It's Christmas soon. I haven't posted an update in a long time. Sorry. We've been busy. New songs are everywhere! New album in 2012. New video in 2012! New EVERYTHING!!!!

STREET MEAT @ The Avant Garde Bar on Saturday, April 30th 2011

We decided it was in our best interests to organize yet another event whereupon we publicly perform the songs that we wrote under the collective identity we've come to refer to as STREET MEAT, biiiiitch!

Also playing that night are Paul Crupi (solo acoustic act, very sincere) and Remember the Fire (pop/punk, slightly less sincere but still a considerable amount of sincerity).

To say it's been slow-going with the album reviews for us would be an understatement of biblical proportions (Ghostbusters). Trying to get the attention of your typical indie-rock snob is on par with trying to fish with an empty pepper-mill as a lure. Not so much for James Blake, Lyyke Li and the rest of the usual gang of idiots. For Street Meat, however, it's a different story.

Which brings me to my second point. The good people at Apartment613 (an Ottawa-based blog which concerns itself with the local art/music/movie/etc scene) came up with a fantastic review of our debut album DICK PARTY! Major props to them for throwing us a bone! Click here ---> BOOM!

We've got shows coming up real soon too! More info as it develops. New songs are on the way as well (2 of which have already been performed live). We're gonna get real busy, real fast. Scaaaaaary!!!!

A Show and an Interview!

1) Come see us play! THURSDAY, MARCH 10th at the ELMDALE TAVERN in Ottawa! We're opening for THOSE GULLS (from here) and HONHEEHONEE (from Montreal). Show starts at 9pm. We'll be debuting some new jams and bringing forth some form of FIRE or another. Here is the Facebook event so it'll all make sense.

2) We're going to be featured on tomorrow's edition of A JUNCTURE on CKCU FM. That's 93.1 on the FM dial if you live in Ottawa and www.ckcufm.com if you don't. The show starts at 5pm and ends at 6pm. An interview and a couple of songs are what's in store. Just DO IT! 

Yet another STREET MEAT feature in National Capital Rock

That crazy-cat Andrew Christian Carver has done it again! He went and wrote about our band a 2nd time! Even included tons of pics from our last show, if you can believe that. Seriously though, major props to Mr. Carver. This guy is a major plus for Ottawa music. He goes to tons of shows, takes tons of photographs and writes tons of reviews on his blog. We're talking free publicity here with the want of nothing in return! He's one of the good guys, folks. Give it up.
